Administrivia & Signs

I've modified the settings for this blog so anyone, not just google members, can leave a comment. Please send me a note at jparton@mindspring.com if you have any questions.

It's winter, so we should all pay attention to road signs. I certainly do.

Watch for ice on bridge. West Virginia

Watch for ice on bridge. Oklahoma

Watch for ice on bridges. Indiana

Bridge ices before road. North Carolina

Bridge ices before road. South Carolina

Bridge freezes before roadway. Kentucky

Bridge may ice in cold weather. Arkansas

In West Virginia and Oklahoma, one should gaze upon the bridge, wary of ice appearing.

Indiana reminds us that all bridges are suspect, not just the one in front of us.

The Carolinas acknowledge that ice happens to roads, also, only later than to bridges.

Kentucky is not concerned so much with ice as with very cold bridges. Perhaps they fear that tires, like tongues, might stick to frozen metal (bridges).

Arkansas is somewhat tentative, allowing that it may be cold without icing bridges.

I'm loving your dialogue and reflection. Hope you will document your experience even more. There's a great book in this over time! Suggestion--treat it like a diary or a place to reflect on each day and each event. Forget about what the final product will be. Just reflect and force yourself to note your reactions. Document each experince without judging it.

I'd buy the book when it comes out!

Hope you have a Happy Holiday Season--howevr you celebrate it! Be well. alcooke
